Power-line immunity audits measure residual AC electric and magnetic field at 50Hz/60Hz frequency. This helps establish action level compliances as per IEC 61000-4-8 (Statute on Magnetic immunity) and IEC 61000-6-2 (Statute on Electro static discharges) compliances. Effects of Power line interferences
Industries which are in precision engineering have very low tolerances for even the slightest errors. Exposure to high residual magnetic fields from high power transmission lines and/or switchyards can lead to interference in the computerised production processes. This is turn could mean that an entire production lot could turn out to be defected. Simialrly deposition of charges on metallic surfaces can lead to human accidents and/or ignition of incendiary chemicals used in the production process. Therefore, it is important to measure. analyse and extrapolate worst case scenarios in the premise very early in the project
Precision manufacturing and Power line immunity/ interference
The images provided here are from our audits for HILTI, ACCENTURE, IIT DELHI and JOHN DEERE. These premises were proposed as sites for their new production factories. The risk of Electric and Magnetic interference (ELF radiation) from overhead high tension power lines close to the factory. An audit of the premise as per the audit guidelines laid down by International telecommunication union (ITU). Fitness of the proposed factory site in terms of compliance to IEC61000-4-8, IEC61000-6-2 and Indian state electricity laws (56,00) was analysed and assessed in presence of various factors (seasons, loads, physical sag). Worst scenario’s were simulated, and basis that decisions were taken.
We use certified and calibrated NARDA EHP50F field strength measuring device for field strength measurements. The machine data files are shared with the customer. We also provide a machine generated field strength heat map. This enables decision takers to visualise the field vectors better.
